Job Summary: The Activities Assistant is responsible for assisting administering a comprehensive resident engagement and activity program to meet the needs, interests, and capabilities of the Residents within Colliers Community. Essential Functions:

1. Assists Residents in the community in acquiring knowledge related to leisure resource utilization on a daily basis. 

2. Assists in creating Resident Histories and Profiles with family involvement. Summarizes information from histories. Share information with associates as well as develop activities based on these interests. 

3. Attends resident evaluation conferences and other appropriate meetings as necessary. 

4. Confers with other community personnel, leadership team, and families regarding resident interests, needs, and limitations, as well as the availability of resources. 

5. Assures that all activities conform to the criteria of federal, state, and local accreditation and licensing agencies or organizations. 

6. Coordinates with the Wise & Well Program Director for scheduling and coordinating miscellaneous social programs for the entire community and specific units (i.e., educational programs, entertainment programs, special events, games, group programs, spiritual services, etc.). 

7. Ability to drive the community vehicle to transport Community residents, including but not limited to providing transportation to local physician or dental offices, trips outside Colliers for shopping, entertainment, education, and/or appointments, both non-medical and medical, outside of the Community, as assigned.

8. Coordinates programs with other departments in the community and interfaces with all personnel as appropriate. 

9. Uses community resources in the development of programs. 

10. Assists with the development and provision of training and orientation programs for students and volunteers. 

11. Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required. 

12. Maintains appropriate degree of confidentiality. 

Education and Experience: One-year related experience and/or training in working in an Assisted Living Community; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications, Licenses, and other Special Requirements: Assisted Living Activities certification, if required by State. Must be in possession of, or have the ability to obtain, a valid state drivers license. 

Knowledge and Skills:

2. Possess the ability to handle complex issues.

3. Demonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills. 

4. Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and Outlook).

6. Express compassion for residents, associates and guests on a consistent basis.

7. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. 

8. Is willing to work flexible hours. (Weekend hours)
