We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data systems that support complex analytics and insights. In this role, you will work closely with product teams, designers, QA engineers, and data scientists to implement solutions for large-scale, multi-modal data environments. You will optimize query performance, improve ETL pipelines, and ensure data reliability, availability, and fault-tolerance. This position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, scale, and system performance, while collaborating across distributed teams in a highly autonomous and innovative environment. You will contribute directly to the development of tools and processes that empower teams to make data-driven decisions and enhance the overall employee experience.

Accountabilities

• Design, implement, and maintain systems that provide fast, reliable access to large datasets.
• Build and optimize ETL pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
• Analyze, parse, and visualize data to support product and business needs.
• Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability across multiple services.
• Develop tools for analytics and data science teams to support product development.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and advocate for better performance across teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a distributed environment to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with large-scale data systems and query optimization techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL and solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and ETL workflows.
• Experience with cloud platforms and services, such as AWS (Redshift, EC2, RDS, Aurora) or GCP BigQuery.
• Knowledge of both NoSQL and RDBMS systems.
• Expertise in multiple scripting languages, including Python and Ruby.
• Experience with distributed systems, stream-processing, and scalable architectures.
• Strong problem-solving skills, communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
• Empathy for users and colleagues, with a willingness to share ideas and learn from others.
