Private Family in Purchase, NY Seeking a Live-In Nanny/Housekeeper
Position: Full-Time, Live-In Nanny/Housekeeper
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–6:00/7:00pm (with downtime midday); occasional pet care coverage when family travels
Salary: $1600 – $1800/week DOE
Start Date: ASAP
A warm and welcoming private family located in Purchase, NY is looking to hire a dedicated and professional Live-In Nanny/Housekeeper to join their household. They value warmth, flexibility, reliability, and someone who will be a long-term fit.
Children: Two children, ages 11 and 17 (homeschooled, but out much of the day at activities)
Home Size: Large residence with private downstairs apartment for the nanny
Pets: 6 cats and 3 dogs
Household Staff: Deep cleaners come weekly; mom is hands-on and manages morning routine
Extended Family: Grandmother often stays with the family, so someone friendly and conversational who enjoys chatting with her is important
Safely and confidently drive children to and from daily activities (dance, soccer, etc.); ensure backpacks and gear are prepared.
Provide loving companionship and support for two children: engage in play with the 11-year-old daughter, connect with the 17-year-old son (musically inclined).
Be warm and conversational with the grandmother when she is visiting.
Care for household pets (morning dog let-outs, feeding, and general care).
Perform household upkeep between deep cleans:
Laundry (high volume) and making beds
Keep kitchen clean and tidy
Track and restock household supplies
General tidying and organization
Run errands as needed in the mornings.
Prepare simple meals for children only (no family cooking).
Stay in the home to care for pets when the family travels.
The ideal candidate is a confident, safe driver with a clean driving record—this is the family’s top priority. They should also be warm, friendly, and engaging, while maintaining healthy boundaries. The family seeks someone flexible, hardworking, and reliable, with prior experience in fast-paced households (Manhattan nanny experience a plus). A genuine animal lover is essential. They should be equally comfortable being a supportive friend to the children and a kind companion to the grandmother when she is there. Above all, the candidate should bring positivity, energy, and warmth to the household—a trusted presence, not a disciplinarian.
Excellent driving skills with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record (must be fully confident driving children). Car provided.
