Note
- You must have at least 2+ years of litigation paralegal or strong legal assistant experience, ideally involving medical injury, product liability, or wrongful death matters.
- This is an on-site, part-time role dedicated to one case, averaging 20 to 25 hours per week.
- Only candidates who can reliably commute to Overland Park, Kansas, will be considered.

Job Description
- Support attorneys on a single, high-profile case from initial filings through trial and post-trial work.
- Manage case files, deadlines, and calendars; track caseload requirements and billable time.
- Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, case law, and legal articles.
- Draft and proofread pleadings, discovery responses, motions, correspondence, and hearing/trial materials.
- Request, organize, and analyze medical and billing records; summarize key findings for attorneys.
- Assist with deposition preparation, including witness and expert research and exhibit preparation.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel to schedule meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
- Handle e-filing in Missouri, Kansas, and federal courts as needed.
- Provide administrative support related to the case, including proofreading, citation checking, and document organization.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of prior legal experience, with a focus on litigation; experience in medical injury, product liability, or wrongful death is strongly preferred.
- Paralegal or legal assistant background with exposure to complex civil litigation.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelors degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Solid understanding of court rules, filing procedures, and litigation terminology.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, and ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional communication skills and comfort working directly with attorneys, clients, and external parties.
